Year-Round:Using Floral Foam

It’s not just for florists

Before creating a design using floral foam, give your flowers a fresh start by cutting about a half to 1 inch from each stem. Cut at an angle so stems will insert easily into the foam. Remove any foliage from the bottom of the stem.

carestep1.GIF (120 bytes) Floral foam has a wicking action that helps the flower stem take up water, therefore maximizing the life of your cut flowers. It also provides more versatility for designing. For example, you can create arrangements that are round, asymmetrical or cascading.
